Nigeria Immigration Services opens a passport front office in Offa

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has opened a new passport front office in Offa. The inauguration took place on December 15, 2023, at the old Traditional Council Office, Offa. The new Offa Passport Front Office was made possible by the Olofa-in-Council in partnership with the Offa Descendant Union (ODU) under the leadership of the national president, Alhaji Azeez Muideen Olaniyi Salako.

According to the release signed by the ODU National Social Secretary and Acting NPRO, Idowu Muhydeen Oladipo, The event was attended by various prominent indigenes of Offa, including the Olofa of Offa and Paramount Ruler of Ibololand, HRH Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi Ajagungbade I Esuwoye II. Also present were High Chief Ojomu, Balogun, Asalofa, and other members of the Offa Traditional Council.

Also in attendance were Prince Soji Olagunju, the Aremo of Offa, Chief Kayode Adebiyi, the Kure of Offa, Chief Mrs. Wosilat Marchathy, the Bobaselu of Offa, and two honourable members representing Essa/Shawo/Igbodun and Ojomu/Balogun Offa State Constituencies at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hons JK Yusuf and Seun Ogunniyi Adato. Also all the representatives of military and paramilitary agencies in Offa were in attendance.

The new passport front office was commissioned by the CG of Immigration, Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, who was represented by DCGI Saadat Hassan. While speaking, the CGI said the front office was designed to make life easier for all residents of the state. The Olofa of Offa, while speaking during the occasion, noted that the importance of the passport office cannot be overemphasized. He also commended the Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Ojo, and the leadership of NIS for the ongoing reforms.

The national president of ODU, who was represented by the national vice president of the union, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibilola, urged the people of Offa to support the new passport office by encouraging people from different parts of the country to use it. He assured the people that efforts would be made to ensure that operations at the passport office would be seamless.
