Kwara Govt. Enlightens Students on Career Choice, Commemorates International Day of Women, Girls in Science

In commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Kwara State government, through SA Education to the governor, Dr. Adetola Salau came has organized a “STEAM UP” project to enlighten the Science students on how to choose their desired career wisely.

The projects tagged; Women and Girls in Science Leadership: a new era for Sustainability, brought together science students of some selected schools Ilorin metropolis.

SA Education, Dr. Adetola at the program said the idea is to make learning more engaging to students and to start preparing them for the future.

She stated the importance of equipping the students with the right skills to be able to compete on global skills.

While admonishing the students on choosing their careers wisely, she advised the management and teachers to ensure their students participated in the project.

Speaking on behalf of the school management, staff and students of Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin, the Vice Principal, Alhaja AbdulKareem Titilola appreciated the state government for enlightening their Science students on how to improve their desired careers.

She equally advised the students to be more focused on their chosen field and put more effort into achieving their desired goals.

In his submissions, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohammed, principal of Govt High School Ilorin, also appreciated the state govt for the opportunity, positing that with the lecture, the students will have a deep interest in science and technology.

He described it as an enlightening program that will highly assist the students
