ICCIMA Partners Kwara Poly, Holds Sensitization Workshop On Income Generation For Prospective Retirees

The Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) in collaboration with Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin has organized a day sensitization workshop for the prospective retirees of the Polytechnic on income generation through agricultural practice and value change addition.

The workshop held on Thursday, 14th March 2024 at Kwara State Polytechnic premised on the enlightenment of prospective retirees in agricultural practice after retirement for income generation.

In his opening address, the President of ICCIMA, Mr. Paul Olagunju represented by the Vice President, Engr. Bashir Lawal commends the management of Kwara State Polytechnic led by Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh for the initiative of collaboration with ICCIMA to organize the workshop.

He congratulated the intending retirees for working with an institution that is concerned with their well-being and prosperity after serving meritoriously for a reasonable length of years.

While describing the chamber of commerce as an organization that plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of its community through the creation of jobs, opening up markets, encouraging entrepreneurship, and generating wealth for the community and businesses through its networking activities, he noted that the chamber is ready to broaden participants’ horizon on the huge potentials eminent in agriculture and its value chain.

According to him, “As we all know, the chamber of commerce movement is an organization that plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of its community through the creation of jobs, I want to charge participants to be very attentive and acquire the needed expertise towards venturing into businesses that would be sustainable and also guarantee income for them.”

Responding to ICCIMA, the Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh appreciated the chamber for making the collaboration efforts a success. He stated that the Polytechnic management considers the workshop imperative for retirees to expose them to income generation through agricultural practice and value chain. The Rector noted that the management values retirees and always wants them to remain relevant after their retirement.
