Lens Poly Offa Former SUG President Appointed Osun West Rep At Nigeria Youth Parliament

The former Students’ Union President of Lens Polytechnic Offa, Comrade Owolabi Daud from Osun State has been appointed to represent Osun West Senatorial District as a member of the Nigeria Youth Parliament in Abuja.

According to the information obtained, Owolabi’s appointment among others was in response to the request from the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to nominate three candidates to represent Osun State for the Nigeria Youth Parliament.

The information revealed that Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs, headed by the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, conducted a merit-based assessment and selected three candidates which include: Owolabi Daud from Osun West Senatorial District, Makinde Iyanuoluwa from Osun East Senatorial District, Akinrinade Adekunle from Osun Central Senatorial District

Reacting to Owolabi’s appointment, the Proprietor of Lens Polytechnic, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA on behalf of the management congratulated the ex Students’ Union President on is new achievement. The Proprietor noted that the management is always happy to hear good tidings about the institution’s products and will always celebrate them.

According to him, “It is no doubt our products are doing well and making us proud across the country. The institution has produced graduates who are making waves in their different fields of endeavours. The news of our ND 2 Mass Communication student, Aliyah who represented Nigeria and won the best setter award at the just concluded 2024 African Under 17 Nations Volleyball Cup is still fresh and this is another good news concerning Owolabi, a Business Administration graduate who served as the SUG President for the 2021/2022 academic session. We are always proud of our students in all ramifications, and we will always celebrate their achievements.”

The Proprietor therefore urged Comrade Owolabi to continue to be a good ambassador of the Polytechnic with his diligent and selfless service at the national level.
