Lenspoly Library Week: Prof. Tella Charges Students To Embrace New Trends In Academia

Professor of Library and Information Science from the University of Ilorin, Prof. Tella Adeyinka has enjoined students to embrace new trends in academia that befits current practices in the Library world.

Professor Tella ably represented by Dr. Ajani Yusuf disclosed this at the grand finale of 3-day symposium organised by Department of Library and Information Science, Lens Polytechnic Offa.

While delivering a lecture on technological advancement and trends in providing Library service, Dr. Yusuf exposed students to various opportunities that can be utilised in the field of Library and Information. He charged students to embrace information technology, artificial intelligence, library applications and research tools in order to be successful Information Scientists.

Earlier in his opening address, the Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA commended the Department of Library and Information Science for the organising the symposium. He noted that the spate of conferences and seminars in the Polytechnic is the bane of every educational institution.

He therefore advised students to utilise the knowledge gained during the symposium as it will open their minds to ample opportunities in the field of Library and Information Science.

In his vote of thanks, the Polytechnic Librarian and Head of Department of Library and Information Science, Mr. Banuso Sheriff appreciated the guest speaker for honoring the Polytechnic with his presence. He also commended the management for providing an enabling environment for teaching, learning, and research.

Present at the event are: Director of Strategic Planning, Mr. Abdulfatai Azeez, the Registrar, Mr. Ahmed Sarafa Olalekan, Examination Officer, Mr. Adetunji Mubarak, Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Nasif Agbolahan among others.
