Compliance Award: Federal Character Honours FEDPOFFA, UNIBEN, SGF, Dangote Group, Others

…FCC Chairman, Dr. Muheebah Dankaka Commends Dr. Kadiri’s strategic foresight, stewardship

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has honoured the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State with the FCC Compliance Award.

The award ceremony which took place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Abuja, featured Ministries, Departments, Agencies, organizations, and notable individuals who have complied with the Federal Character’s principles in its operations, ensuring that the FCC achieves its core mandates

Being the 3rd in its series, the Polytechnic’s compliance award was received by the Deputy Rector (Academics), Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Bola Aliyu; she was accompanied by the Deputy Registrar, Rectory, Mrs. J.F. Egbele.

In her remarks, the Chairman of FCC, Dr. Muheebah Farida Dankaka, OON, NPOM, said the commission chose to honour the Federal Polytechnic Offa, in recognition of how the institution, under the leadership of Engr. Dr. Kadiri has experienced a remarkable resurgence, broken barriers, and made valuable contributions to the Polytechnic Administration in Nigeria. The commission, according to the Executive Chairman, celebrates the Rector’s notable achievements, acknowledges his foresight, programmatic focus, and dynamic stewardship.

Recall that in a short span of 18 months, Dr. Kadiri has brought a palpable sense of purpose to the Polytechnic community. The visible transformations under his watch is the completion of some key infrastructures and massive legacies projects, including the FEDPOFFA Bakery, the FEDPOFFA water factory, and the revamped FEDPOFFA Bindery located at the 1000 Capacity Auditorium where students projects are bound. The institution under his leadership also secured the hosting bid for the 2024 edition of NIPOGA.

The FCC event brought together members from the Government, Industry players, public sector leaders, policymakers, academia, and MDA’s. Prominent organisation and personalities who were honoured in the same capacity as Federal Polytechnic Offa were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; represented by the permanent secretary of the General Services offices, Dr. Maurice Mbaeri; President/Chief Executive of the Dangote group, Aliko Dangote, represented by the Group Managing Director, Mr. Olakunle Alake; Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character, Senator Allwell Onyesoh; Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alh. Umar Usman Kadafur; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Shaib Kyari; Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Professor Kola Adebayo; Vice-Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie; and the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku; among many others.
