Hon. Seun Oguniyi Lauds As Kwara Govt. Intensifies Efforts On Immunization, Primary Health Centres, Holds Task Force Meeting in Ilorin

 

The Kwara State House of Assembly Member representing Ojomu Balogun Constituency Honorable Seun Oguniyi has lauded Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq’s efforts on improving immunization and primary health centres in Kwara State.

The lawmaker revealed after attending the first quarterly meeting of the State Task Force on Immunization and Primary Health Care (STFI & PHC) on Thursday 8 May 2025 in Ilorin.

The crucial committee meeting held at the Conference Room of Deputy Governor’s Office, Ilorin is statutorily chaired by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kwara State Mr. Kayode Alabi with the mandate to supervise the implementation of plans and policies of the State Government towards achieving improved immunization indicators in the state and also see to the efficient service delivery of the state-owned Basic Primary Health Centres across the state.

According to him, ” This quarterly high-level review mechanism reflects the bold commitment of the Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s led administration to improving health care service delivery across the state Primary Healthcare Centres and the subnational obligations stipulated in the 2009 Abuja Commitments to Polio Eradication in Nigeria.”

The Stakeholders present at the Q1 review meeting includes: Representatives of the First Lady of Kwara State; Commissioner for Finance, Dr Hauwa Nuhu; Commissioner for Communication, Hon Bolanle Olukoju; Commissioner for Social Development, Hon Mariam Nna Fatimah Imam PhD; Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Prof Nusirat Elelu; Emir of Shonga, HRH Dr Haliru Yahaya; State Coordinator, World Health Organization and other Development Partners. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina El-Imam, who is a critical part of the Task Force, was unavoidably absent due to other official engagement outside Kwara State.
