“Today, we come together to honor not just the concept of democracy but the remarkable strength and resilience of the Nigerian people. Our journey towards democratic governance has faced numerous hurdles, yet it is through our collective unity, determination, and spirit that we continue to advance on this path.
“Democracy Day serves as a powerful reminder that sovereign power ultimately resides with the citizens. It is our voices that matter, our choices that count, and our unwavering commitment to justice and fairness that collectively shape the future of our beloved nation. Each citizen plays an essential role in fostering a society that reflects our common aspirations and values.
“As we commemorate this significant day, let us also acknowledge the pressing need for structural reform across our nation. Embracing restructuring is paramount for achieving equity, inclusion, and sustainable development. We aspire to build a Nigeria where every region flourishes, governance is accessible and responsive to the local populace, and opportunities are distributed fairly and justly among all citizens.
“Let us approach the future with hope, remain steadfast in our unity, and continue advocating for the Nigeria of our dreams—a nation that exemplifies justice, equality, and opportunity for everyone.
Happy Democracy Day! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
