ICAN Offa District Society Holds 2nd Investiture Ceremony, Inaugurates Oyediran Sheriffdeen As 6th Chairman

The Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria, Offa and District Society has held its second investiture ceremony to inaugurate Oyediran Leye Sheriffdeen ACA as the 6th Chairman of the district.

The ceremony was held at the AWA Ibraheem ICAN Resource centre on Wednesday 25th June 2025 Offa, Kwara State.

In his opening address, the chairman investiture planning committee, Mr. Ahmed Lawal FCA noted that the occasion is not just a celebration of leadership transition but a reaffirmation of the institute’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and service in the accounting profession.

While appreciating all the sponsors, partners and guests for their presence, he described the newly inaugurated chairman as a man of excellence, resilience, and vision.

“Today, we gather to honour and celebrate a man of excellence, resilience, and vision who along with his dedicated team is prepared to build on the legacy of those before him and steer the district society to greater heights,” he said.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Sheriffdeen acknowledged the efforts of the founding members of the district and all the past chairmen for building and sustaining the district on a solid pedestal.

While highlighting his planned programmes for his administration, he solicited for renewed cooperation and support of all members, partners, and stakeholders.

He equally commended his executive committee members, the members of ICAN Offa and District Society and investiture committee members for ensuring the successful event.

Earlier in his address, the Proprietor of Lens Institutions, Dr. Yisa Azeez FCA described the chairman as a man with sound knowledge and robust experience, he added that the newly inaugurated chairman is a good role model who is keen and committed to the growth of the district. While congratulating him on the investiture, the Proprietor urged him to channel his experience to enhance the growth and development of the district.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Offa Branch, Engr. Abdulfatai Kolawole congratulated the newly inaugurated chairman. He charged him on all-inclusive leadership and cordial relationships with other professionals in Offa community.

Furthermore, The Nigerian Bar Association, Offa branch secretary, Barr. Agbaje congratulated the chairman and preached more synergy between the two professional bodies for societal growth and development.

On his part, the Chairman, Federal Polytechnic Offa Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Dr. Idowu Atilola described Mr. Leye Sheriffdeen as a man of integrity with utmost dedication and commitment. He congratulated him and charged him to work in compliance with the laid down rules and regulations of the district.

Similarly, the Dean, School of Business and Management Studies, Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Kenneth Unuafe described Mr. Leye as a man of integrity who is passionate about development. He congratulated him and wished him a successful tenure.

The peak of the event featured the investiture of the chairman and swearing in of the executives by the representative of the District Coordinator, Mr. Salman A.Y. flanked by the past chairmen of the district.
