Oyindamola Emerges Pioneer SUG President-elect of Lens University

…Proprietor charges New Excos on Service delivery

Miss Oluyemi Oyindamola, a student from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Faculty of Basic Medical and Allied Health Sciences, has been declared the pioneer President-elect at the recently concluded election for the Students’ Union Government (SUG) at Lens University, Ilemona.

The result which was announced by the institution’s Proprietor, Dr. Yisa Azeez FCA had Lady Comrade Oluyemi Oyindamola with a total of 119 votes to defeat her opponent, Adebayo Orokotan from the Department of Business Administration, who received 29 votes.

Dr Azeez congratulated the newly elected students’ body on the historic victory as the pioneer Student Executives and charged them to live up to their campaign promises.

The election which took place at the University auditorium on Friday, July 4th, 2025, saw a significant turnout, as confirmed by the electoral committee.

In other election outcomes, Abdulrahman Usman was elected as the Vice President Admin. with 141 votes as David Princess secured 115 votes to become the vice president academics.

Silas Shalom emerged as the general secretary, Ipaye Celestina as the Asst. general secretary, Akinola Opeyemi as the treasurer, Adeyemi Oyinlola as the social director, Omoarukhe Faith as asst. social director, Thomas Temitope as the Sport director, Adeboyo Esther as the financial secretary, Adesegha Damilola as welfare secretary and Oseni Fathia as the asst. welfare secretary.

In her remarks, Oluyemi Oyindamola disclosed that “as a health student , I will be fully available to meet my fellow students’ welfare and work hand-in-hand with the management of Lens University, Ilemona to move the Institution to a higher level”.

Reacting to the development, the management, staff and students of the institution wished the new students’ body a successful tenure in office.
