As the world pay tributes to late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, a leader known for his integrity and unwavering commitment to mitigate corrupt practices in Nigeria. It’s also important I write my tribute to his legendary as we are all going to become history.
During his reign as Nigerian President, he launched several initiatives programs aimed at eradicating poverty and promoting economic growth, which was applauded by many Nigerians.
Some notable policies and initiative programs implemented during his regime include but not limited to:
– *Anti-Corruption Campaigns*: Strengthening the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and recovering looted funds, including the Abacha loot, while prosecuting over 600 high-profile corruption cases.
– *Poverty Eradication Initiatives*: Implementing programs such as N-Power, TraderMoni, and the School Feeding Program, the funding of National Directorate of Employment (NDE) aim to alleviate poverty and promote economic empowerment among Nigerians.
– *Infrastructure Development*: Investing in infrastructural projects to improve the country’s transportation networks, establishment of many federal tertiary institutions, improved energy supply, and overall economic competitiveness.
– *National Security*: Focusing and tried his best in combating the Boko Haram insurgency and other security challenges in the country.
While his administration faced many challenge that were unknown to the citizens, amidst economic downturns, many political negative criticism, some people like Kanu even went as far as wishing him dead, alas, the will of God eventually manifest with a successful handing over power to the current elected president Ahmed Bola Tinubu (GCFR) in 2023.
President Buhari’s tenure was peaceful, while his legacy is marked by his commitment to public service, discipline, and high integrity among many others, this is why the the US government referred to him as the most free corrupt President Nigeria has ever had.
However, it’s disheartening to see some individuals rejoicing over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, forgetting that we are all human being, prone to mistakes and imperfections. Forgetting that only God Almighty is perfect.
My advice to fellow Nigerians, let’s reflect on the wisdom of the Quran, which reminds us too speak good of the deceased and to avoid gloating over their demise.
In Surah An-Nahl, verse 126, Allah says: “And when those who disbelieved plotted against you to imprison you or to kill you or to expel you, they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.”
Moreover, in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 12, Allah advises us: “O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other.
Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.”
Let’s strive to emulate the teachings of our noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who counseled us to speak well of the dead or remain silent. As we bid farewell to our former leader, let’s focus on the positive aspects of his legacy left behind and the positive impact he had on our nation, Nigeria political elites should always appreciate the efforts of their opponents no matter his political affiliation.
I give Kudos to the late President Muhammadu Buhari as he tried his best by bringing Nigerians together and strengthen Nigeria democracy.
I pray, may Allah forgive us all for our shortcomings and grant us the wisdom to treat each other with kindness and respect, even in times of disagreement.
As the world bid farewell to this remarkable leader, I sincerely pray that Allah accepts his return, overlooks his shortcomings, and grants him Aljanatul Firdaus.
May his legacy continue to inspire future generations of Nigerians to work towards a more prosperous and corruption-free society.
May He also grant the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s immediate and extended family the fortitude to bear this great loss. Amen.
Rest in peace,
President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR).
Patriotic Nigerians loves you ❤️.
