OMC Felicitates Dr. Mrs. Sarah Omotunde Alade OON, Its Pioneer President As She bagged the Distinguished Alumni Award of Excellence of The University of Ilorin
This week, the University of Ilorin is commemorating the Golden Jubilee anniversary of its establishment and as part of the line-up of activities to mark this milestone, the University conferred the Distinguished Alumni Award of Excellence on Dr. Mrs. Sarah Omotunde Alade OON on 16th July 2025. Dr. Alade was among other eminent and distinguished Nigerians who received awards at the landmark ceremony of the institution.
The event took place at the University Auditorium, where the University celebrated Dr. Mrs. Sarah Alade OON, along with other alumni who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours and calling and have positively projected the image and reputation of the University in good light through their exceptional outstanding achievements.
The valuable contributions of Dr. Sarah Alade transcended the University of Ilorin where she graduated and later worked for many years before going on to work and serve the country on a higher national platform where she rose to the position of the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria. She also later became the Special Adviser to late President Muhammadu Buhari on Economic and Finance.
OMC, as a development oriented organisation concerned about addressing gaps in health, socio-economic, and infrastructural gaps within and around Offa community, profoundly thank University of Ilorin under the leadership of Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole SAN, for finding our amazon worthy of this well-deserved award and recognition. As our pioneer President, Dr. Sarah Alade was responsible for leading the vision and execution of the remarkable project of our first-class health care facility in Offa, and we are truly proud of her accomplishment.
