Again, Fedpoffa Named As Foremost Institution Under Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru

The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, has once again proven its position as one of Nigeria’s leading and foremost Polytechnics with a series of prestigious recognitions and placements from the Federal Government, underscoring its reputation for academic excellence, innovation, and national impact.

In a recent development, the Federal Ministry of Education has officially selected The Federal Polytechnic Offa to serve as the Sports Centre of Excellence for the North Central geopolitical zone under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Sports. This is part of a nationwide reform aimed at revitalizing sports infrastructure, fostering physical fitness, and enhancing sports education in tertiary institutions.

The institution’s nomination follows its inclusion as a member of a high-powered national committee tasked with reviewing and improving all existing Sports, Physical and Health Education courses and curricula across Nigerian universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education. The inauguration of the committee, chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, is scheduled for Thursday, 14th August 2025, in Abuja.

This recognition comes on the heels of two other major achievements within the last few days:

The Polytechnic was selected by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) as a pilot hub for promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement in Nigeria.

The Federal Ministry of Education also named the Polytechnic as a pilot institution for the new TISSF programme, further cementing its status as a trailblazer in the nation’s education sector.

These milestones reinforce The Federal Polytechnic Offa’s growing appeal not only among admission seekers but also in the eyes of the Nigerian public, countering the false impressions being circulated in some sections of the online media.

Speaking on the latest achievements, the Polytechnic’s management commended the dedication of all staff, both teaching and non teaching whose commitment has propelled the Polytechnic to the zenith of academic and professional excellence. Special praise was reserved for the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Kadiri, whose visionary leadership Team continues to ensure that the Polytechnic fulfils its mandate as a centre of innovation, skills development, and national service.

With these back-to-back recognitions from the Federal Government, The Federal Polytechnic Offa has once again demonstrated that it is not just keeping pace with national development goals but is actively shaping the future of higher education and technological progress in Nigeria.
