Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa applauds, charges students to be creative
Kwara State University Don, Professor Zubair Isiaka Aliagan, has lauded Lens Polytechnic Offa for its commitment to students’ development through regular seminars and capacity building programmes.
Prof. Aliagan gave the commendation on Monday, September 1, 2025, while speaking at the 6th edition of the Annual Departmental Seminar of the Mass Communication Department, held at the Lens University Ilemona in collaboration with the HND II 2025 set.
The seminar, themed “Digital Entrepreneurship: Prospects of Managing Digital Media by Communication Graduates”, was aimed at preparing students for opportunities and challenges in the digital media space.
Prof. Aliagan, who was the keynote speaker, urged the students to think beyond paid employment and take steps towards establishing their own digital media ventures.
“Today, I want to talk to you not about getting a job in digital media, but about becoming the architect of your own digital media venture,” he said. He shared a practical guide that covered the digital media landscape, available opportunities, possible challenges, strategies for success, and case studies of thriving digital media businesses.
The Proprietor institutions, Dr. Issa Azeez, applauded the department for its consistency and encouraged the students to keep learning, dreaming and aiming high.
“You have what it takes to be great,” he said.
Also speaking, Prof. Mrs. Titilayo Ojo, urged the students to see learning as a continuous journey and to put God first in all they do.
While the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Information, Mrs. Kehinde Adeniran in her remark praised the department and advised students to embrace all the insights given by the guest speakers as parts of the skills needed to succeed in the digital media space.
The event was graced by notable staff, including the Registrar, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olalekan, Director of Strategic Planning, Mr. Azeez Fatai; Bursar, Mrs. Azeez Sekinat; Director of Student Affairs, Mrs. Mujeedat Bammeke Oladipo; Exam Officer, Mr. Adetunji Mubarak; and Compliance Officer, Mr. Nasif Agbolahan, former general manager, Radio Kwara and Lens University Staff, Alhaji Adebowale Adedeji among others.
