The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the killing of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Kirk was shot on September 10, 2025, during an event at Utah Valley University hosted by Turning Point USA, the youth organization he founded. The FBI released two photos of the suspected gunman and confirmed they had recovered a possible weapon connected to the attack.
In a statement on X, the FBI appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the shooter.
Trump confirmed Kirk’s death in a Truth Social post, describing him as a “legendary” figure who deeply understood American youth. He offered condolences to Kirk’s wife, Erika, and family.
Reports initially claimed that Utah House Speaker Mike Schultz had confirmed Kirk’s death, but his public statement only acknowledged the shooting, condemning the act of violence and stressing that such attacks have no place in politics.
Kirk, a key figure in the MAGA movement, was influential in boosting Trump’s 2024 campaign through grassroots mobilization. Though he declined a government role after Trump’s victory, he maintained influence via his widely followed podcast, which draws nearly six million listeners monthly.
