FG APPROVES NALDA LAND CLEARING PROJECT WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA FOR FEDPOFFA

The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, has received yet another boost from the Federal Government as the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) formally awarded a contract for the clearing of 100 hectares of land within the Polytechnic premises, a project valued at millions of naira.

The contract, awarded to Cognoscenti Integrated Services Limited, was approved by the Parastatals Tenders Board (PTB) of NALDA during its meeting of July 30, 2025. According to official correspondence from the Authority, the project has a completion timeline of eight weeks from the date of contract signing.

In a follow-up notification addressed to the Kwara State Administrator of NALDA, dated September 11, 2025, the Authority directed full cooperation and support for the contractors to ensure smooth execution of the land-clearing exercise. The project is expected to provide strategic expansion opportunities for the Polytechnic in agricultural development, training, and entrepreneurship.

This landmark approval is another feather in the cap of the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru O. Kadiri, whose relentless pursuit of excellence has continued to attract Federal Government attention and projects to the institution. Stakeholders have lauded his visionary leadership which has repositioned FEDPOFFA as not only a citadel of learning but also a center for Innovation, Technology, Agriculture, and Sports development.

It would be recalled that under Dr. Kadiri’s leadership, the Polytechnic recently secured the Federal Government’s approval for the establishment of an Incubation Technology Centre, recognition as a Centre of Excellence for Sports in the North Central Zone, and inclusion in the Federal Government’s Sports Development Committee.

The Polytechnic Management has extended appreciation to the Presidency, the Executive Secretary of NALDA, the Ministry of Education, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and all agencies, officials, and stakeholders who played vital roles in facilitating the approvals. The institution also acknowledged the support of staff, students, alumni, and the host community.

The Rector, while reacting to the latest development, described the NALDA project as a “game-changer” that will open new frontiers for agribusiness, student training, and community development. He pledged the full commitment of the Polytechnic to ensuring that the cleared land is maximally utilized for the benefit of students, the institution, and the surrounding communities.

With this latest Federal Government intervention, FEDPOFFA further cements its rising profile as a hub of academic excellence, technological innovation, agricultural expansion, and sports development in Nigeria.
