Muslim Sisters Organization, Offa Branch Holds 2025 Sisters’ Seminar, Sensitizes Students on Hijab, Modesty

The Muslim Sisters Organization of Nigeria, Offa branch, held its 2025 sisters’ seminar on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at Offa Grammar School.

The seminar titled Hijab as a Symbol of Modesty and Devotion in Islam was organized to sensitize participants and Muslim students from different secondary schools in Offa, Kwara State, on the use of hijab as an act of obedience and pathway to spiritual closeness to Allah.

The guest lecturer, Dr. Mrs. Raliat Abimbola Aladodo from the Department of Biochemistry, Kwara State University Malete, emphasized the importance of hijab for a Muslim sister, adding that wearing hijab is more than a garment but a conversation, challenge, statement of faith, and a test of devotion for Muslim sisters.

While addressing the students, she highlighted the significance of hijab, which includes religious awareness, identity and empowerment, national relevance, spiritual and moral renewal, among others. She charged the students to build confidence and always act with modesty against oppression.

Speaking further, she charged Muslim parents and guardians to monitor and encourage their female children on the use of hijab as a symbol of modesty and devotion in Islam.

Also speaking, the matron of the Muslim Sisters Organization, Offa Branch, Alhaja Abike commended the guest lecturer for her thoughtful and insightful lecture. She encouraged the students to see hijab as a sign of modesty and always be proud to appear in it. She equally urged the parents to lay a positive foundation of modesty for the children.

Similarly, Iya Adini of Offa Land, Alhaja Rafat, applauded the Muslim sisters for organizing the program and pledged her continuous support for the organization and Islamic affairs at large.

In her vote of thanks, Amirah of the organization, Mrs. Mumeenat Tejumola, appreciated the guest speaker for honoring the invitation and thanked Iya Adini of Offa, Muslim Sisters Organization, Ilorin Branch, donors, and all the invited guests for making the event successful.
