NLA Visits Lens Polytechnic Rector, Commends Management On Appointment

The Nigeria Library Association, Kwara State Chapter, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of Lens Polytechnic, Offa, Dr. (Mrs.) Aliyu Bola Mulika, CLN, to congratulate her on her recent appointment.

The delegation, led by the chapter chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajani, CLN, described the appointment of Dr. Mulika as a welcome development, noting that her professional background would add value to the institution.

Ajani, in her remarks, commended the proprietor of Lens Institutions for the association’s continuous moral and financial support, especially through the Department of Library and Information Science and the school library. She prayed for the Rector’s successful tenure and expressed hope that the vision of the polytechnic would be achieved under her leadership.

Responding, Dr. Mulika appreciated the association for the visit and pledged her commitment to strengthening academic and professional collaborations.

The Registrar of the institution, Mr. Sarafa Olalekan Hammed, also thanked the delegation for their show of solidarity. Similarly, the school librarian, Mr. Banuso Hammad Sheriff, CLN, lauded the NLA members for their support and revealed that Lens University had commenced Post-UTME programmes in Library and Information Science and other courses, duly approved by the National Universities Commission.

Other members of the NLA delegation present included Mr. Afolayan Joel (Michelle Model, Ilorin), Mr. Iliyas (Kwara State Library Board, Ilorin), Mr. Mhamudu (Federal Polytechnic, Offa), and Mr. Dere Abiodun (Lens Polytechnic, Offa).
