Nigerian Air Force Donates Internet Service Facility To FEDPOFFA
Rector commends Offa-born AVM OR Abidoye for facilitating the project
The Federal Polytechnic Offa (FEDPOFFA), Kwara State, has recorded yet another remarkable milestone under the visionary leadership of Engr. Dr. Kamoru Kadiri Oluwatoyin, FNSE, as the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) commissioned a fully functional Internet Service Facility in honor of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) O. R. Abidoye at the Polytechnic’s Main Campus.
The project, tagged
“Chief of Air Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project,” was facilitated by Offa-born AVM O. R. Abidoye and generously donated to enhance internet connectivity, efficiency, and digital learning across the Polytechnic community.
In his address, the facilitator, AVM OR Abidoye, expressed joy at contributing to the development of his hometown through the Polytechnic “It is a privilege and honor to come back home and give back to the community. This is just the beginning of several developmental initiatives we intend to undertake for the Polytechnic and Offa community,” he said.
He further commended the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri, for his outstanding leadership, infrastructural transformation, and commitment to academic excellence, noting that Offa is proud of the progress made under his administration.
The Special Guest of Honour, AVM LI Oluwatoyin, described the intervention as a laudable step that would strengthen digital education and administrative efficiency in FEDPOFFA. He praised AVM Abidoye for his foresight and assured the Polytechnic Management of continuous collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force in areas of security and corporate social responsibility.
In his opening remarks, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri, appreciated the Nigerian Air Force and the facilitator for the impactful project, which, according to him, will further consolidate FEDPOFFA’s drive toward technology-based learning and innovation.
“We are sincerely grateful to the Nigerian Air Force for counting our great Polytechnic worthy of this laudable gesture. The facility will enhance our broadband capacity, boost research, improve teaching and learning, and strengthen administrative efficiency,” he stated.
He also assured the Facilitators and the Chief of Air Staff that the facility will be judiciously utilized, properly maintained, and maximally deployed in pursuit of the institution’s mission to produce skilled, innovative, and industry-ready graduates.
The highlight of the commissioning ceremony was the exchange of commemorative plaques between the facilitator, AVM OR Abidoye, and the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri, on behalf of the Polytechnic Governing Council, Management, Staff, and Students. Similar gestures were extended to AVM LI. Oluwatoyin, Air Commodore IB Musa (Commander, 303 Composite Group, Ilorin), Group Captain O. N. Oni, DPO Offa Division, and the wives of both AVM Oluwatoyin and AVM Abidoye for their steadfast support.
The event attracted members of the Governing Council, Principal Officers, Deans and Directors, HODs, Staff Unions, Senior Administrative Officers, staff, Officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies.
The internet facility has since been commissioned for use by staff and students of the Polytechnic, marking yet another landmark achievement in the quest to make FEDPOFFA one of the foremost and fastest-growing Polytechnics in Nigeria and the African sub-region.
