Gunmen Kill Two Residents in Fresh Attack in Kwara Community

Suspected terrorists have carried out another deadly attack in Kwara State, killing two residents in Ifelodun Local Government Area. The incident happened along the Babanla–Oreke road.

According to sources, the victims were on their way to buy food for people in their community when they were ambushed and shot dead. A video from the scene showed their bodies lying in blood, while local vigilantes and police officers were present to secure the area.

This attack adds to growing security concerns in Kwara State, where cases of terrorism and kidnapping have increased in recent months, especially in rural areas. Residents say fear has become part of daily life despite repeated assurances from authorities.

SaharaReporters also recalled a recent incident in the same local government where Nigerian soldiers arrested suspected bandits found carrying AK-47 rifles and moving in a security patrol vehicle. One of the suspects claimed during interrogation that the vehicle and weapons were supplied by the Kwara State government for patrol duties, alleging that their superior collected the arms. Investigations into the claims are ongoing.
