Owode Market Traders Have Declared Support For Eluku Omo Adugbo, I did Not Authorise Any Disclaimer- Iyaloja of Offa Re-affirms

The Iyaloja of Offa, Alhaja Idiat Ishola Ige has cleared air on false disclaimer going round on social media attributing the endorsement of Eluku Omo Adugbo by Owode Market women as false.

Iyaloja disclosed that the said disclaimer is false and the endorsement of Eluku Omo Adugbo, the Peoples’ Democratic Party candidate for the LG Chairmanship election by Owode market women remain valid.

According to her release,
“The Office of the Iyaloja General of Offa is compelled to issue this statement to categorically deny and disapprove of a purported statement circulating on social media, falsely attributed to Iyaloja General, Chief Mrs. Idiat Ishola Ige Yusuf where agents of doom used the name of IYALOJA to issued a statement denouncing the support of Owode Market traders for Eluku Omo Adugbo.

“The said statement, which has been widely shared and attributed to the Iyaloja General, is a total fabrication and a misrepresentation of my views and position as a leader of uncountable traders in Offa and environs.

“I want to make it known that I was physically present at the event last Thursday where I also conducted an interview. I am the leader of the Owode traders, and I stand by my beliefs, opinions, and position. The market traders inside the Owode Market have declared their support for Eluku Omo Adugbo, which was not influenced by me. Therefore, I have nothing to debunk regarding their openly expressed support.

“I would like to clarify that the rejoinder also contained a misrepresentation of me. It mentioned a video of me distributing money donated by MOK Foundation to support those who lost millions in the recent fire outbreak inside Owode market. However, the distribution actually took place in my absence as I was out of the state for official duty, although I was informed.

“I am appalled and disappointed that some individuals would stoop so low as to use my name to spread falsehood and misinformation.

“I want to inform the public that I, Chief Mrs. Idiat Ishola Ige, did not issue the statement and have not taken any position on the matter. The statement is entirely false and does not reflect the views or opinions of me or my office.

“I disapprove of this despicable act and condemn the individuals responsible for this blatant lie. I urge the public to be cautious of fake news and misinformation and to always verify information before sharing or believing it.

“I am a respected leader and a symbol of integrity and truth. I will not stand idly by while my name and office are used to spread falsehood and confusion. I demand an apology from those responsible and a retraction of the false statement.
