NLA Pays Advocacy Visit To Lenspoly Offa, Commends Management
The Nigerian Library Association, Kwara State chapter has paid a familiarisation visit to Lens Polytechnic Offa Library and Information Science Department.
The NLA executives led by the Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Flawrence O. Ajani visited the Polytechnic Library at the mini campus on Thursday 28 November 2024.
Speaking on the premise of the courtesy visit, the Financial Secretary, Mr. Joel Afolayan said the executives visited the Polytechnic for familiarisation ahead of the forthcoming 49th conference and Annual General Meeting that will take place at the University of Ilorin.
According to him, “We are here on advocacy and familiarisation visit ahead of the 49th conference and AGM holding next week December 5 2024. We had a professional discussion with the Librarian and we commend the management for the level of the work done having gone through the facilities; we urge them to do more.”
The NLA executives therefore tasked the Department on advocacy campaign to change peoples’ orientation on Library and Information Science as a course.
While appreciating the Kwara State chapter of NLA for the courtesy visit, the Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Sheriff Banuso noted that the Polytechnic is passionate about standard and has spent substantial amount to equip the Library. He added that the institution will continue to uphold the standard required of Library and Information Science among other departments.
Other NLA executives present are: General Secretary, Mr. Ilias Muhammad, Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Mahmud S.O.
