Lens Poly Offa Students Face Unilorin, Kwasu, Fedpoffa, Others in NLA Quiz Competition

Lens Polytechnic Offa library and information science students shine in an Inter-Library quiz competition organized by the Nigeria Library Association (NLA) on 29th April 2025 at KWASU Business Centre.

The event featured some top higher citadel in Kwara State, such as: Lens Polytechnic, University of Ilorin, Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin and Kwara State University, Malete.

The Lens Polytechnic was ably represented by Tomiwa Femi, Rabiu Quadri, Olaitan Rachael, Badmus Tomiwa, Oyiza Hameedah.

Tomiwa Femi, one of representatives, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the unforgettable moments. “It’s a great opportunity to represent my institution today. We keep learning every day. We are the knowledge managers and information architects,” he said.

He also appreciated the chance to interact with NLA Kwara State chairman, library professionals and distinguished fellow students.

In his reaction, the Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA commended the students for their outstanding performance in the competition. He noted that Lens Polytechnic will continue to nurture students meritoriously for the national growth and development. The Proprietor equally lauded the organisers of the competition for providing a great platform for academic excellence to thrive.

Also speaking, the Head of Department of Library and Information Science, Mr. Sheriff Banuso appreciated the management of Lens Polytechnic for providing a conducive environment for teaching and learning. He added that Lens Polytechnic Library and Information Department remain steadfast in continuous learning and developing future library professionals.

The quiz competition was organised to serve as a platform to promote academic excellence and enhance the reading culture among students of tertiary institutions.
