Assistant Controller Of Corrections, Adeniyi Pays Courtesy Visit To Lens Institutions

Proprietors Pledge Relieve Package For Inmates

The management of Lens Institutions has received the newly deployed Officer-in-Charge of Nigerian Correctional Service, Medium Security Custodial Centre Omu-Aran, Assistant Controller of Corrections, Olaniran Adeniyi Olaitan on Monday 26 May 2025.

The new officer in charge visited the institution as part of the familiarisation tour to the relevant institutions in Kwara State for collaboration and support.

As contained in the letter of notification, Assistant Controller Olaniyi noted that the visit was part of his familiarisation tour as the new officer in charge. In his address, he appealed to the management to extend helping hands to the inmates in custody in terms of support ahead of the Eid-l-Kabir celebration.

The Proprietors in their separate remarks lauded the Assistant Controller Olaniyi for deeming it necessary to pay a familiarisation visit to the institution. The Proprietors unanimously pledged to provide welfare support for the inmates as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The management equally applauded the officer in charge for taking the welfare of the inmate as priority.

According to Alhaji Isiaq Azeez and Dr. Yisa Azeez, ” We first and foremost appreciate your officers for the warm welcome extended to our crime management students during their excursion to the correctional centre. We equally commend you for this familiarisation visit to our institution. Reaching out to inmates in custody is rewarding, and the management is using this medium to pledge our welfare support to bring succour to the inmates, and it won’t be a one-time thing.”

While corroborating the Proprietors, the Registrar, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olalekan noted that the institution will equally expand opportunity to inmates who wish to further their education, adding that the institution is open for partnership.
