Fifth Kwara South Unification Meeting Held In Offa, Focuses On Unity And Development
…Push For Zoning of Governorship To Kwara North In 2027
On Sunday 1st, June 2025, it became the turn of Eesa/Shawo/ Igbodun Constituency to host the monthly unification meeting of the House of Assembly Honourable Members and the Executive Chairmen of Kwara South extraction. The Honourable Member representing Eesa/Shawo/ Igbodun Constituency, Hon Gbenga Yussuf, was the chief host for this month’s (June 2025) meeting. The monthly unification meeting that is rotated across Kwara South senatorial district is geared towards sustaining a new political order that will entrench unity, progress, and development in Kwara South. This initiative is spare headed by the House of Assembly Honourable Members and Council Chairmen of Kwara South extraction.
This month’s meeting hosted in Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency is the fifth consecutive meeting and engagement that is being rotated across Kwara South senatorial district. The following were in attendance: Rt Hon Ojo Olayiwola, Deputy Speaker (Oke Ogun Constituency); Hon Gani Abolarin, Chief Whip (Ekiti Constituency); Hon AGF Salahuddeen (Omupo Constituency); Hon Shola Odetundun (Irepodun Constituency); Hon Gbenga Yussuf (Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency); Hon Rasaq Omotosho (Isin Constituency); Hon Joseph Bamgboye (Oke-Ero Constituency); Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi (Ojomu Balogun Constituency); Hon Chief Benjamin Jolayemi (Chairman Isin LG); Hon Femi Yusuf (Ifelodun LG); Hon James Fadipe (Chairman Oke Ero LG); Hon Kamar Akanbi (Chairman Oyun LG); Hon Sulaiman Olatunji (Chairman Offa LG); and Hon Wale Awelewa (Chairman Ekiti LG)
Other leaders also present at the meeting are: Chief Kayode Adebiyi; Alhaji Razaq Oyewo; Alhaji Fatai Olagunju; Alhaji Muideen Bamkeke; Kwara South Senatorial Woman Leader, Hajia Muji Amototo; Hon Sarafa Oje; Councillors representing Balogun, Eesa A, Igbodun, Ojomu South East, and Shawo Central; Chairmen along with members of the Ward Central Working Committee (CWC) and stakeholders from the wards, Members of the Kwara South Equity Advocate Group drawn from across the seven local governments of Kwara South led by Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal.
The meeting unanimously resolved as follows:
1. Pledged unflinching loyalty and support for the continuous success of the government of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
2. Affirmed strong commendation for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the giant strides in infrastructural development in Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency and indeed all part of Kwara South.
3. Pledged continued support for the policies and programs of the state government under the able and dynamic leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
4. Leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting strongly advocated for a power shift to Kwara North come 2027 in the spirit of equity, fairness, and justice.
