Hijrah 1447AH: MOK Foundation Greets Muslims

The Muyideen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation joins millions of Muslims across Kwara State, Nigeria, and the global Ummah in celebrating the commencement of the new Islamic year, 1447AH.

In a goodwill message signed by the Foundation’s Director, Mr. Saheed Lawal, the MOK Foundation describes the Hijrah as a time of deep spiritual reflection, moral awakening, and a renewed commitment to building a just and compassionate society, especially in this period of national and global challenges.

“The Hijrah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah represents a transformational journey—one that reminds us of the values of sacrifice, perseverance, faith, and community development. It is a call to move away from divisions and injustices, and move towards a society rooted in peace, dignity, and social support,” the statement reads.

The Foundation also extends felicitations to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, all traditional rulers across the state, religious leaders, Islamic scholars, and the Muslim community, particularly in Offa and Kwara South, for their contributions to moral stability, religious tolerance, and community advancement.

The MOK Foundation, known for its sustained interventions in youth empowerment, education, food security, healthcare access, and support for vulnerable populations, reaffirmed its commitment to human development inspired by the ethical teachings of Islam and the Prophet’s legacy.

“We pray that this new Islamic year brings peace, divine mercy, abundant blessings, and progress to all. May Allah (SWT) strengthen our faith, guide our leaders, and uplift every household in Kwara State and Nigeria,” the statement concludes.
