Lenspoly Offa ready to partner NBTI On Innovation, Invention

The Director General of National Board for Technology Incubation, Engr. Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji has declared the readiness of the agency to partner with private institutions on innovations and inventions.

The Director General disclosed this at the Federal Polytechnic Offa during the inauguration of the institutional based technology incubation centre on Thursday, 28 August 2025.

Dr. Kazeem while responding to the question raised by Lens Polytechnic Dean, School of Engineering, Engr. Christian Egbekoba on how the National Board for Technology Incubation can collaborate and assist private institutions on innovations, said the board is always ready to partner with any institution that expresses interest through a proposal to the centre.

According to him, “We don’t discriminate; we have many private institutions we are collaborating with. Government is for all and not only for the public sectors.”He noted that a lot of private universities have been ranked above government universities based on their innovations, adding that innovation can come from anywhere.

” If Lens Polytechnic comes on board by writing to us about what they want to do or need, we are ready to partner with the institution. No barrier to innovation,” he stated.

While reacting to the Director General’s remark, Engr. Christian noted that the Polytechnic has been working on different innovations and notable inventions. He added that the institution is off the national grid and using solar energy to generate electricity for the polytechnic “Lens Polytechnic is ready to work with the National Board for Technology Incubation on partnership and commercialisation of polytechnic inventions,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Registrar, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olalekan said the Lens Polytechnic Offa possesses qualified personnel from the school of applied sciences and engineering with the required experience to drive innovations. He commends the National Board for Technology Incubation for extending partnership to private institutions.
