FEDPOFFA remains peaceful and stable- Mgt. Trashes Crisis Rumour
Urged media to verify information before publication
The Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has thrashed news in circulation insinuating crisis and unrest withing the Polytechnic.
This rumoured crisis was discarded by the Polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Iroye in a release.
The release read in full:
“The attention of the Management of The Federal Polytechnic Offa has been drawn to a recent publication titled “Federal Poly Offa Boils Again as ASUP, School Management Clash” as circulated in an online news platform.
While the Polytechnic appreciates the media for their role as the Fourth Estate of the Realm and commends the particular medium for balancing the story within the body of the report, the institution nonetheless expresses deep displeasure at the use of such a sensational and misleading headline. The caption, in its tone and intent, gives a false impression of crisis or unrest within the Polytechnic, a situation that is entirely non-existent.
If indeed the Polytechnic will ever “boil”, it will only boil sweet potatoes (Anamo), for which the ancient city of Offa is well known, and for which The Federal Polytechnic Offa has become notable in its entrepreneurial drive through the production of sweet potatoes bread and other confectioneries.
For the avoidance of doubt, peace and tranquility reign supreme across both the Main Campus and the Mini Campus of the institution. Academic and administrative activities are ongoing smoothly and harmoniously. The Polytechnic recently concluded the 2024/2025 Second Semester Examinations, marking the end of another successful academic session, while preparations for the new session are in top gear.
It is equally important to state that the Polytechnic recently presented 81 academic programmes for accreditation and resource visitation by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). The results, released earlier this week, were overwhelmingly positive, an outcome that was celebrated with joy and unity by staff, students, the host community of Offa, and other stakeholders.
The Federal Polytechnic Offa, therefore, reiterates that there is no crisis, no clash, and no form of disruption to its operations. The institution remains a unique citadel of learning committed to academic excellence, industrial relevance, and peaceful coexistence among all members of its community.
The Management wishes to assure the general public, parents, guardians, and all stakeholders that normalcy prevails, and that the Polytechnic continues to uphold the values of discipline, dialogue, and development for which it is known nationally and internationally.”
