Lens Poly Offa Lecturer, Dere Abiodun Elected As Nigerian Library Association PRO
Marking a significant achievement for the Library and Information Science Department, Mr. Dere Abiodun has been elected as the new Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Library Association’s Kwara State chapter.
The announcement was made during the Nigerian Library Association’s Conference and Library Week held yesterday at the Federal Polytechnic Offa and made to the Public by Lens Polytechnic Offa Public Relations Officer, Nurudeen Muhammad.
In his Congratulatory message, the Proprietor Dr. Yisa Azeez FCA, described Mr Abiodun’s emergence as ” a victory well deserved,” acknowledging Mr. Abiodun’s dedication and contributions to the field of library science.
The institution’s Rector Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Aliyu, expressed her joy in the accomplishment, noting that Mr. Abiodun’s election showcases the institution’s commitment to fostering exceptional talent. “His emergence as a leader in the Nigerian Library Association illustrates that Lens Polytechnic Offa is home to competent lecturers and experts in their fields,” she stated.
Mr. Sherifdeen Banuso, the school librarian, echoed these commendations, reiterating that this milestone reflects the Polytechnic’s focus on prioritizing knowledge and skills.
Mr. Abiodun’s election marks a new chapter for the Nigerian Library Association in Kwara State, and many anticipate that his leadership will enhance the visibility and impact of libraries within the region. As he steps into this role, the community looks forward to his innovative approaches in promoting library services and advocating for the profession.
