The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has restated its strong commitment to the welfare of frontline personnel, urging them to remain steadfast in protecting civilians from bandits and insurgents.
This call was made on September 3, 2025, during the commissioning of worship centres, a mini-mart, and a quarter guard stand at the 4135 Force Protection Wing, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. The facilities cater to both Christian and Muslim personnel and align with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, who prioritises personnel welfare for operational efficiency.
Represented by the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Yusuf Dari, the CAS commended troops for their sacrifices in restoring peace to previously troubled communities. He urged them to remain united, vigilant, and respectful towards civilians, stressing that their mission goes beyond combat to building trust and ensuring lasting peace.
Dari assured the personnel of the CAS’s full support, noting that the newly commissioned projects reflect NAF’s commitment to balancing combat readiness with the welfare and spiritual needs of its members.
The event comes shortly after NAF carried out a successful air raid on September 5 in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State, killing over 15 terrorists and destroying key insurgent facilities, reinforcing its counterterrorism efforts.
