Lenspoly Offa Falculty of Applied and Health Sciences Holds Capacity Building Workshop
On Tuesday 14th of April, 2026, the Falculty of Applied and Health Sciences organized a training workshop to enhance capacity building and staff development.
The workshop tagged training-the-trainer featured research scholars from the University of Ilorin and Federal Polytechnic Offa.
The first resource person from the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Usman Kolawole Muftau discusses standard format for project write-up. Dr. Usman gave a step-by-step format for scientific writing from chapter one to five, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and intellectual discourse.
The second resource person from the University of Ilorin, Dr. Moshood Issa explains what a background of the project should contain, dissecting the funneling approach that makes a researcher demystify the study from a global perspective to a local perspective. He extensively unravels the review of literature, methodology, analysis, and conclusion as integral chapters of research.
Earlier in his welcome address, Dean Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences, Mr. Tobi Ajiroba noted that the workshop is a significant step forward in the collective commitment to strengthen academic standards, enhance competency in research supervision, academic writing, and ethical scholarship.
Giving her opening remark, the Rector, Dr. Mrs. M.B. Aliyu, ably represented by Director of Strategic Planning, Mr. Fatai Azeez, gave a framework and rationale behind the workshop as one to equip trainers on the recent updates in scientific write-up.
While appreciating the resource persons, the management commends the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences under the leadership of the Dean, Mr. Tobi Ajiroba; the project chairperson, Mrs. Muhammad; the heads of departments; and the entire staff of the faculty for the successful workshop and looks forward to more intriguing academic activities for staff and students growth and development.
Present at the workshop were the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Bolajoko Aliyu; the Registrar, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olalekan; the Project Coordinator, Mrs. Muhammad among others.
